Medication safety starts with the authenticity of medicines
Thursday, 17 September, marks the WHO’s World Patient Safety Day. The theme for this year is Safe care for people living with non-communicable diseases.
In many cases, these are long-term conditions such as cardiovascular diseases or diabetes, where medicines play a key role in treatment. According to WHO estimates, one in ten people living with these conditions experiences harm related to health care. Half of this harm is estimated to be preventable.
At Fimvo, we always want to highlight the importance of patient safety and accelerate action to reduce avoidable harm. Medication safety starts with patients using only genuine prescription medicines prescribed by their doctor. By obtaining your medicines from legitimate pharmacies, you can make sure that falsified medicines do not end up in your hands.
